Small intimate art center and excellent craftsman ship on a variety of items from local artisans
Wonderful place to get unique, local arts and crafts. They have amazing paintings by local artists, greeting cards, jewelry, pottery.... I could go on & on! Please consider supporting local artists. Their creations are beautiful & unique. I treated myself and husband to a teapot created by Pamela Adorno-Pieropan and it's a functional piece of art!
Based on this experience I will no longer consign with volunteer-run craft organizations. What is the criteria to get paid? I rather support a retailer that truly supports (local) crafters and artist, who commits / buys my quality work and deservedly doubles my whole-sale price. Or I'd join a Co-op and know my partners, And sell directly to the public. PCC on the other hand has been in my experience elusive and unreliable (store hours included). What is its purpose? To be a venue for do-gooder's to socialize in the name of supporting crafts, while holding tight the purse strings? I pay rent for my art studio, taxes, materials and live from my craft. I was approached in May 2010 by one of the Center's leaders to sell my work at PCC,. The first item sold during June, the second later, a third was presumably sold. I picked up the remaining scarves and framed Nature Prints on Oct 8th for non-payment(s). My efforts to communicate by phone and in writing with someone have not been reciprocated. I am waiting to date to be paid for merchandise PCC collected money for.
